David A. Carpenter

David A. Carpenter is a Partner in Mayer Brown LLP’s New York office. Mayer Brown is among the largest law practices in the world, with more than 1,600 lawyers across 25 offices in the United States, Europe and Asia. Over his nearly 30 year career with Mayer Brown, David has focused on Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets transactions, with particular emphasis on representing large multi-national corporations on cross-border transaction. Since January 2012, David has served as the Office Practice Leader for Mayer Brown’s New York Corporate & Securities practice. David has particular experience in the Food & Beverages, Life Sciences and Chemicals sectors. David was recognized as an “MVP” in the Food & Beverages category by publication Law360 for his work in 2018 on behalf of Food & Beverage industry participants. Since 2013, David has been recognized as a “Life Sciences Star” by Euromoney’s Legal Media Group Life Sciences publication

From April 1998 to June 2001, David Served in various executive capacities, including General Counsel, of Metal Management, Inc. (now known as Sims Metal Management ACN: SMM). Metal Management and its successors are among the world’s leading publicly listed metal recyclers of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. During David’s tenure with Metal Management, its shares traded on Nasdaq. As Executive Vice President, Administration, Legal and Regulatory Affairs, David was responsible for Human Resources, Risk Management, Legal and Compliance and the company’s public reporting. As Secretary, David coordinated the company’s communications with its Board of Directors, among other responsibilities.
